A major goal in the college plan is to “maximize student learning, access, and success” with one of its objectives being to “increase student access” Strategies to achieve this goal are to increase transit options to campus, increase flexible course offerings, and ensure access for special populations. Therefore, the college is committed to reaching a diverse student population and providing all with an excellent education.
As an employer, the college plan has as a major goal to “attract, develop, and sustain high developing employees” through appropriate staff development support as well as by engaging adjunct faculty who may feel less connected to the college. Diversity is one of the college’s core values, and attention to the development of employees demonstrates a commitment to social justice and sustainability.

A brief description of how the strategic plan or amendment addresses the economic dimensions of sustainability:
One of the six major goals outlined in the CCCC strategic plan is to “maintain a strong financial foundation.” The two objectives defined are to increase fundraising efforts and build efficiencies in campus operations. Specific strategies to accomplish efficiencies include building the infrastructure for renewable energy credits, reducing paper and time through the implementation of electronic forms and signatures, increasing sustainability practices at all campuses, and reducing energy costs at all campuses through people and systems.
Another of the six major goals is to build and strengthen partnerships. Through partnerships with local businesses and related agencies, significant gains can be found in efficiencies and effectiveness. Additionally, the college seeks to champion effective technologies in programs and operations, which will also increase the economic sustainability of the college.
