A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
Catawba College has three electric golf carts and one small electric truck for staff members in the Public Safety Office. These vehicles were switched to all-electric because the Public Safety Office often conducts safety checks and monitoring of campus, which was an idling-intensive in internal combustion engine vehicles.

The College's Fred Stanback, Jr. Ecological Preserve Keeper operates an electric vehicle to assist in operations and maintenance in and around the Preserve.
