Catawba College has fulfilled its Second Nature Climate Leadership Commitment by achieving Carbon Neutrality for Fiscal Year 2023. The College has achieved this important milestone by reducing is use of energy and by purchasing carbon offsets and renewable energy credits (RECs) equal to 105% of our calculated emissions for Fiscal Year 2022. This fulfillment comes seven years before the 2030 carbon neutrality target set when the College signed the commitment in 2007.
