The Center for the Environment will present to all campus employees on sustainable habits and practices in everyday work in the Fall of 2023. The College is hosting a Sustainability Town Hall in April 2023 to provide the Catawba community with the opportunity to learn more about sustainability on a macro-level for the College.
The Center is developing other internal training and professional development opportunities for all employees of the College.

Catawba College was an official Host Institution of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s (AASHE’s) annual Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education (GCSHE) in 2022. As a host institution, all students, staff and faculty had full access to the conference. This information was broadcast through internal College communications networks for faculty and staff members.
Catawba staff have also been able to participate in various sustainability-focused professional development workshops. Recently, the College financially supported staff attending AASHE's "A Deep Dive into STARS Data Quality" workshop.
