Student sustainability research incentives

Yes

A brief description of the student sustainability research program:
The Catawba College Center for the Environment provides up to four grants of up to $2,000 each annually to support student or faculty research that is directly linked to at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In addition, the James M. Beard Student Science Travel Award is awarded to certain students conducting mentored research in the disciplines of Environment & Sustainability, Biology, or Chemistry. The Award includes funding up to $500 to cover travel costs for students to present research at an academic conference.

The Catawba College Corriher-Linn-Black Library provides research guides, referred to as LibGuides, to all students and staff. Relevant to this section for sustainability research, the Library offers LibGuides for Environmental Science & Studies and Equity, Diversity, Justice, and Inclusion to assist students in their pursuit of research on socio-ecological issues and concepts.
