The CWRU 2013-2018 Strategic Plan (found at https://case.edu/provost/priorities/) impacts each division, course and school on an institution level. This plan's theme is "Think beyond the possible" which focuses on "advancing interdisciplinary initiatives in research and education that align [CWRU's] expertise with the world's most pressing needs." Special attention given to diversity, inclusion and internationalization as well as interdisciplinary initiatives on sustainable value, ethics, human health, social justice, energy and more. CWRU is committed to all facets of sustainability.

The following programs all have at least one or more sustainability-focused courses as a required part of their curricula. The PhD in Management: Designing Sustainable System requires 18 credit hours of independent research that seeks to incorporate perspectives from new thinking about design, sustainability, and complex systems as they relate to management in an increasingly global environment.
