A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
We conduct an employee satisfaction survey every three years. It is administered to 100% of permanent employees. Student workers receive a student version.

The survey, known as the Cascadia College Employee Satisfaction Survey (CESS) includes a number of standard questions used by colleges across the country as well as the following nine specific questions added this year:

1. This institution demonstrates support of cultural diversity.
2. This institution values trust.
3. My supervisor supports and understands my job.
4. My workplace morale is suitable.
5. Access to technology at this institution meets my expectations.
6. I have opportunities to engage in learning at this institution.
7. The campus facilities are cleaned and maintained in a satisfactory manner.
8. My workload allows me to engage fully in campus activities.
9. The campus’ leadership encourages communication between departments.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
We have a number of mechanisms in place to address issues raised by the evaluation as well as other issues that are brought to the attention of leadership including the following: monthly navigators meeting (representatives of faculty and staff groups bring feedback/concerns/ideas directly to the president); coffees for three with the president and two employees; faculty assembly, hourly assembly and exempt assembly; quarterly all-campus DIAs (Days of Inquiry and Assembly); weekly president's letter; quarterly strategic plan updates; and regular departmental meetings.
