Commuter Services conducts a survey of how students travel to campus. There is also data regarding the purchase of student Orca cards for public transport. Commuter services track the number of cars entering and exiting campus over a number of days at regular intervals.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:

Commuter services conducts a biannually survey of transportation used by employees and faculty. This CTR Survey meets the University’s reporting requirements under the Washington State Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) Law. Survey results are gatherer from staff and faculty via voluntary response through email and are used to look holistically at campus transportation programs to determine marketing success to adjust and tailor transportation marketing and communications information to give the campus community the best of what we can offer. This survey also provides us the ability to provide feedback to our partner agencies about opportunities for improvement as well as general employees perceptions about using public transit.
