Foundations E&I Course and Study Group
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
The Executive Director of Equity & Inclusion and Director of Organizational and Professional Development created an online Foundations of E&I course for Cascadia College employees. The course includes ten modules covering a robust range of E&I topics and engages employees via written content, videos, linked articles, and reflection questions. Individuals my complete the course independently or through a study group format in which a cohort of 12-15 individuals complete modules at the same pace and meet to discuss their learning. The Executive Director of Equity & Inclusion and Director of Organizational and Professional Development, who are both highly trained in E&I peer-to-peer education, facilitate the study groups. They conduct outreach via email, invitations, and word-of-mouth. Additionally, they host a special study group specifically for Cascadia College administrators, and as part of that group they model facilitation techniques so that administrators can become peer-to-peer educators within their own teams.
