A brief description of the institution’s certified green cleaning program, including the year adopted and/or certified:

Aramark will operate a Green Cleaning Program at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). The objective is to reduce levels of chemical, biological, and particulate contaminants that can compromise air quality, human health, building finishes, building systems, and the environment. We will achieve this objective through these methods:
• Promoting operating procedures for effective cleaning and hard floor and carpet maintenance systems to be regularly used, managed and audited
• Protecting vulnerable occupants during cleaning
• Handling and storing cleaning chemicals safely that are used in the building (including plan for managing hazardous spills and mishandling incidents)
• Reducing the toxicity of the chemicals used for cleaning activities
• Promoting and improving hand hygiene
• Purchasing cleaning products, materials, and equipment that support this objective
