Carnegie Mellon University does not have this data accessible as the university does not keep any of this data.
However, the university does, on all large projects over $ 1 million, require that 50% of all waste be diverted from the landfill. Generally most of the projects exceed this requirement and actually reach 85 - 90% diversion. While the university tries to recycle and divert all waste on smaller projects, this percentage is most probable in the 25 -75% range.
Overall, it is estimated that 75% of the university's non-hazardous construction and demolition waste was diverted from landfills for the 2009-2010 academic year.
