Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes
Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
100
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Carleton University produces and partakes in a number of surveys in order to collect feedback, inform continuous improvement efforts, and help in institutional planning and priority setting. Each department conducts surveys on a rolling cycle with up to 15 departmental surveys being conducted each year.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The survey findings are reviewed by the department directors and an action plan is put together to address the findings. For example, in 2019 the university conducted a maintenance survey and revived below-average ratings on the university recycling and waste efforts. To address this issue, Carleton has committed to becoming a zero-waste campus and implemented more recycling measures across the campus. This is outlined in our most recent Sustainability plan. https://carleton.ca/sustainability/wp-content/uploads/Sustainability-Plan-2020-25-final.pdf
For example, in a 2019 survey focusing on the Campus library, our lowest score was pertaining to ease of access to library resources via the website. This indicated that the Macodrum Library website needed to be reconfigured to make information more readily available for staff members.
