Carleton provides a number of opportunities for non-academic staff in respect to sustainability professional development. This is mainly centred on themed workshops which will focus on specific aspects of the overall sustainability strategy and have included information related to travel and transport, recycling and zero waste and energy programs.
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :
Carleton piloted a program for external professional development and training, through the carbon literacy program based in the UK. This is a multi-day program which enables education and training on broader sustainability goals and outcomes. To date one department has been included in the training with the prospect of broadening to other parts of the campus in 2022.
