Carleton University follows the Ontario Council of Academic Vice Presidents (OCAV) Quality Assurance Framework (Appendix 2), which sets out strict Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Level learning outcomes and expectations, that all Carleton Students must adhere to through their course. These are not value statements but criteria in line with set principles for Ontario Universities. All Graduate and Undergraduate students are expected to learn behaviour consistent with academic integrity and social responsibility.

Learning outcomes were assessed for all academic departments identified in the sustainable course inventory. There is no singular location or database for learning outcomes associated at the program or departmental level at Carleton. Learning outcomes were obtained by first cross-referencing programs in the sustainable course inventory, and then manually searching corresponding program web pages. Programs with learning outcomes that include sustainability keywords were included.
