A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
Capilano University is not yet certified regarding operations and maintenance (ie. LEED O+M) though there is a strong commitment to protecting the health of building occupants and the environment. There is continual monitoring of energy consumption, CO2 levels, and actions taken to ensure building occupants comfort while minimizing energy used. There is a preventative maintenance program in place for mechanical systems to take a proactive approach to ensuring equipment is operating as designed. When replacing building components products are selected with consideration to their environmental impact such as low flow fixtures, high efficiency boilers and chillers, energy efficient lighting, etc.
