Percentage of new employees that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:
100
A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
100% of all new employees are onboarded, whether academic or non-academic, full time or part time. Each new employee is now given a link to the New Employee Onboarding site and our employee intranet Frontlines including the New To CapU page. Together with the Employee Engagement and Wellbeing page, the New to CAPU link provides information relating to sustainable initiatives, including sustainable transportation options, health and wellbeing, social initiatives, etc. During the following 30 days, all new employees will also work their way through a checklist of information including the institutions guiding documentation and sustainability values contained within.
100% of new employees receive information about CapU's wellness initiatives during orientation. Initiatives are categorized into four well-being groups: Mind, Body, Work, and Life. In 2018, Capilano University committed to promotion and support of well-being across its campus communities and embedding well-being and sustainability into all academic, strategic and operational plans through partnering with the Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges.
