Description of the internal data quality controls used in the preparation of this report:

We ensured data quality through the following controls:

  • Standardized Data Collection: Departments submitted data aligned with AASHE requirements and sought additional information when needed.
  • Cross-Departmental Review: The lead worked individually with departmental representatives to address questions and provide clarifications.
  • Third-Party Audits: External verifications, including Ecometrica reports, waste audits, and reviews by partners like Dawson College, supported data validation.
  • Central Oversight: The Living Sustainability Centre, led by Jesse Russell, reviewed all data to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Transparency: All data was documented and securely stored for future reference.

Narrative outlining the independent audits or external assurance processes used in the preparation of this report:

We collaborated closely with Dawson College, a recognized AASHE STARS Gold recipient, to ensure a high-quality submission. Weekly meetings with their team provided ongoing guidance and opportunities to address questions throughout the process. Additionally, we dedicated 3 to 5 focused days at the start of the project for onboarding, ensuring alignment with AASHE standards, and another 3 to 5 days before submission for a thorough review and final refinements. Their expertise and support were invaluable in validating our data and strengthening our overall submission.
