Has the institution conducted a comprehensive inventory within the previous three years to identify the sustainability challenges or SDGs addressed by each course?:
Copy of the sustainability course inventory:
Description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory:
We conducted a comprehensive review of all programs offered in our program guide, which range from 1 to 4 years in duration, with a standard semester typically including five courses. Following this, we retrieved the 2023-2024 course outlines for each course within a specific program to be assessed using AI.
In collaboration with a consultant, we mapped the course outlines to keywords identified by the University of Toronto and relevant indicators to evaluate each course's contribution. Throughout this process, we worked closely with the consultant to address any data limitations. For example, rather than broadly categorizing all courses under "quality education," we ensured that each course outline was accurately aligned with one of the specified indicators.
As part of the ongoing review process, this document will be reviewed by both our Academic Centre of Excellence and the faculty teaching.
The attached document lists courses that are either sustainability-focused or sustainability-inclusive. The report also provides a gap analysis that identifies further opportunities for intergration per course.
