Does the institution have at least one organized research center, institute, or equivalent unit focused on a subject other than sustainability that produces sustainability research?:
List and description of the institution’s research units focused on subjects other than sustainability that produce sustainability research:
ICAMP (Innovation Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Prototyping) is one of Canadore College's research units primarily focused on subjects other than sustainability, specifically in advanced manufacturing and product innovation. However, through its work, ICAMP also contributes to sustainability research in several ways:
-
Product and Process Innovation: By refining and developing new products and processes.
-
Access to Advanced Technology: ICAMP provides companies with access to the latest technologies, enabling them to explore sustainable materials and processes. This includes developing products that have a lower environmental footprint or that contribute to sustainability in other sectors.
-
Support for R&D in Sustainability: ICAMP's secure facility and comprehensive R&D capabilities allow for research and development activities that can include sustainable innovations, whether in materials science, energy efficiency, or other areas that overlap with sustainability goals.
Although ICAMP's primary focus is not on sustainability, its work in advancing manufacturing technologies and processes inherently contributes to sustainability research and development.
