Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Endowment data is from IPEDS FY July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015. (Data provided by Associate Director of Enrollment Research, Calvin College).
Physical Plant:
For the purposes of this current STARS submission, some off-campus buildings are not included in the building square footage, the campus' footprint, nor the GHG emissions inventory. There is no data currently about this aspects of them. We hope to change this in the future.
These off-campus buildings include: the Raybrook building that houses the Center for Social Research, the Project Neighborhood homes, and the downtown art center. It is unclear how these will affect the points earned for the GHG emissions credit.
However, to be conservative, we are not including in the campus footprint the acres of the Nature preserve nor the 100 acres of woods near Flat Iron Lake owned by Calvin, nor Walden Lake campgrounds Calvin owns, or other lands that could have possible been counted as carbon sequestration lands.
