A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
Located on 304 acres of land, the CSUSM campus is built on a hillside overlooking the City of San Marcos. The young campus, only 31 years old, was built from the ground up and continues to grow today. We currently have 27 buildings and 2 residential housing complex with 6 buildings that house approximately 1500 students. We are bordered on the north east by the Ca-78 freeway, the coast is 12 miles west and downtown San Diego is 30 miles south. We are located in North San Diego County.
Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? | Included? | |
Agricultural school | No | No |
Medical school | No | No |
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) | Yes | Yes |
Museum | No | No |
Satellite campus | Yes | No |
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Hospital | No | No |
The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
We are excluding our satellite campus because we do not own the buildings and therefore have no control over making them more sustainable.
