A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:

The Sustainability Projects Funding (SPF) allocates funds to provide support for essential educational experiences and activities that aid and supplement the fundamental educational mission of CSUSM. Sustainability Projects are defined as those activities and projects that are integrally related with helping the campus meet its sustainability goals. This year ASI has allocated approximately $15,000 to SPF to fund projects that positively affect CSUSM’s sustainability efforts, reduce the University’s environmental impact, and help to “green” our campus. ASI administers the SPF through a Sustainability committee.

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:

The sustainability committee is made up 4 students: The chair of the committee (Sustainability Representative for ASI), environmental studies student, student at large and another ASI appointment student. These 4 students have voting rights. The larger committee, supporting the student led committee are the following:
Co- Chairs- Sustainability Manager and ASI Director, and standing invitees: Facilities Director, Energy Management and Utilities Director and Planning, Design and Construction Director.
