Part 2. Sustainability-focused certificate program

A brief description of the certificate program(s):
Dedicated to providing environmental leadership in resolving issues related to land, water, waste, energy and air in the Southern California region.
The Environmental Leadership Institute (ELI) at Cal State San Marcos is dedicated to the purpose of providing a service to the Southern California and Inland Empire regions, one that demonstrates environmental leadership and serves as a resource for environmental planning, analysis, assessments, policy and education for emerging practitioners and leaders.
The objective of the Environmental Leadership Academy is to heighten awareness and engage leaders in critical thinking around environmental issues affecting our quality of life, such as climate change, air and water quality, land-use change, endangered species, energy and waste. (ELA)
CSUSM and the statewide water resource community have formed a partnership to develop a unique Water Resource Management and Leadership certificate program to educate new water leaders who understand how to effectively and efficiently manage local, regional and statewide water resource and utility operations.
