A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:
CSUN hosts many opportunities for employees to be actively engaged in volunteering on-campus and in the community. Some examples of programs and events from the 2023-24 academic year include multiple tree planting events for Arbor Day and Earth Day, our first-ever Moveout event held in partnership with Student Housing in May, A service day in the CSUN orange grove on Cesar Chavez day, and workdays in the Institute Food Garden every Saturday.
In addition, all state employees are fully compensated for participating in jury duty to encourage active participation in civic duties.
