Sustainable Fashion Project
We are excited to introduce CSUN's first sustainable fashion program! In partnership with the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), the Sustainable Fashion Ambassador Certificate Program offers students the opportunity to systematically learn about issues in different facets of the fashion industry but also enable them to have hands-on experience by leading and disseminating this information to their peers and CSUN community partners. The Sustainable Fashion Ambassador Program is an interactive, interdisciplinary workshop series that will take place over the course of a semester. Seminars will take place bi-weekly on Zoom, beginning on Friday, September 10th, from 12pm-2:45pm.

The workshop series will focus on three major aspects:

Relevant knowledge development
Conversations with practitioners
Ambassador action project
Designed by Dr. Tracie Tung, Elline Deogracias, and Dr. Natale Zappia, this program covers various topics such as: social justice in fashion, product life cycle, supply chain assurance and transparency, sustainable business logistics, sustainable communities, and more. Additionally, two seminars will feature a panel of experts from relevant industries with whom students can connect and network. Throughout the semester, students will work on an “Ambassador Action Project” that will be showcased in a virtual campus-wide event – these projects can be academic research, business proposals, fashion shows, etc.

Perks of this program:

Direct discussions with industry experts, along with opportunities to network and connect with peers, professors, and mentors

No application fee and free textbook

Small class sizes will allow students to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences with in-depth conversations

Interactive activities and projects
