CSUN abides by the CSU Sustainability Policy which states that "All CSU buildings and facilities, regardless of the source of funding for their operation, will be operated in the most energy efficient manner without endangering public health and safety and without diminishing the quality of education and the academic program."
In addition to the adhering to the CSU policy, CSUN has an Energy and Sustainability team that employs a full time Energy Manager who is focused on reducing our overall electricity, natural gas and water consumption. To assist the Energy and Sustainability team, we utilize SkySpark as our Energy Information system. This tool has the ability to track all of our utility data from our campus meters to our utility bills. We also utilize this system to track our progress towards the goals outlined in our sustainability plan as well as the CSU Sustainability Policy through real-time dashboards. We have also built out a tool within SkySpark to streamline our GHG reporting and ensure our reports are as accurate as possible.
