Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Electric/Battery Grounds Equipment Powered by Solar

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In 2016 our Grounds Department started an initiative to migrate away from traditional fossil fuel powered equipment. They have replaced several of their weed whackers, blowers as well as a chainsaw and hedger with electric/battery powered equipment. They have been testing the equipment for several months now with very little issues. The newest addition to our electrified fleet will be a battery powered ride on lawn mower - from Mean Green Mowers. This is the first electric mower on our campus and it is the hope that it will not be the last. In an effort to further their commitment to sustainability they have also began charging their carts on our mobile DC Solar powered trailers.
