A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
Sustainability is now offered as one of the options of rotating workshops that students can select to attend through our new student orientation.

We provide the program electronically so that they did not need to be printed and there is an online self-guided module for all students, further reducing overall environmental impacts.

We have focused on purchasing more sustainable swag, from sustainable companies and products that increase sustainable practices, i.e. reusable straws, utensils, water bottles, tote bags etc.

Sustainability is included prominently during the campus tour portion of orientation where details about campus sustainability are shared such as the leed certification of several buildings, as well as some water retention techniques the university is using. Details are also shared regarding the shuttle system to cut down on driving and parking as well as the bike rental program through Student Recreation. Interactive games are offered at tabling events related to sustainability, large events are zero waste.
