Health and Safety Initiatives: Injury prevention through providing online safety training (both mandatory and non-mandatory) in self-paced online format, with a focus on use of a computer desk ergonomic self-assessment tool, chemical and laboratory safety, hazard communication and correction, heat related illness prevention, AED/First aid kit program, and other educational resources and alternatives. Increased promotion of "who to contact" and reporting near-miss incidents through the Safety Communication Form, email or phone (either 911, non emergency or EHSRM offices) hazard communication, spill reporting and injury reporting. Continued meetings of the Public Safety Committee which is another way to keep represented groups involved and connected with employee prevention, communicating concerns and reporting hazards and incidents. In-person presentations at all New Employee Orientations sets the tone for the IIPP, educational resources, prevention and connection.
