The Office of Diversity and Inclusion utilizes Hurtado, et.al. assessment framework for diversity in analyzing basic measures of equity and diversity and assessing our progress against these measures. We conduct entering freshmen surveys using UCLA's CIRP surveys through HERI, and NSSE, and conducts local alumni surveys.

A brief description of the most recent assessment findings and how the results are used in shaping policy, programs and initiatives:
2018 CIRP entering freshmen surveys helped identify educational needs of students and intendended educational interests. Engaged academic advisors across colleges by providing a profile of freshmen majoring in their college. Also provided campus-wide presentation on our student body and entering freshmen characteristics.

During opening welcome forums, the Chief Diversity Officer reviews entering student characteristics, aspirations, and goals based on freshmen survey.
