Total energy consumption (all sources, excluding transportation fuels), performance year :
188451.13 MMBtu

Total clean and renewable electricity generated on site during the performance year and for which the institution retains or has retired the associated environmental attributes:
50.90 MMBtu

A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :

In July 2011, Cal State LA activated a photovoltaic system of 77 solar panels on the E&T building. The solar PV system is composed of two types of modules: a large, 56-Sharp-panel and a smaller 21-Solec-panel subsystem previously used at Huntington Library. The system generates about 40 kWh daily during the summer.

In 2018, the underperforming 21-Solec-panel subsystem were replaced with an array of 14 high-performance LG panels each capable of producing 320 W in full sun. They new system is showing a 150% performance improvement, and generates a total of 150 MWh/year.

0 MMBtu

A brief description of off-site, institution-catalyzed, renewable electricity generating devices:

Not applicable

Total third-party certified RECs, GOs and/or similar renewable energy products (including renewable electricity purchased through a utility-provided certified green power option) purchased during the performance year:
