A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:

The Minor in Sustainability Marketing provides the opportunity for students enrolled in B.S.B.A. options other than the marketing option or other degree programs to:
(1) broaden their understanding of mounting environmental and social issues that impact our local and global communities;
(2) transform the design, marketing, and consumption of products and services within an interdisciplinary framework of environmental
and social sustainability;
(3) enhance their employment portfolio to appeal to the increasing number of public and private employers seeking college graduates
with a deeper understanding of the human impact of environmental issues.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Sustainability Marketing provides the opportunity for students enrolled in all CSULA degree programs, as well as working professionals from the external community, to:

broaden their understanding of mounting environmental and social issues that impact our local and global communities;
transform the design, marketing, and consumption of products and services within an interdisciplinary framework of environmental and social sustainability;
enhance their employment portfolio to appeal to the increasing number of public and private employers seeking college graduates with a deeper understanding of the human impact of environmental issues.

A total of 18 units (6 courses) is required for this certificate. MKT 3100 (Principles of Marketing) or consent of the instructor is required as a prerequisite. This certificate is open to all students, matriculated and non-matriculated. Non-matriculated students should enroll through Open University. Upon completion of course requirements, students will be awarded the Certificate in Sustainability Marketing, awarded by the Department of Marketing, and when appropriate, the College of Extended Studies and International Programs.
