A brief description of the guide for commuters about how to use alternative methods of transportation:
Transit and Parking Discounts is a tri-fold brochure that explains the many ways that students can travel to the University other than in an automobile. The brochure is important because Cal State LA is primarily a commuter campus. Cal State LA is the only University in the region with a Metrolink station on the campus property. The brochure explains the options available to students, and also provides information about benefits: Metrolink offers students a 25 percent discount on tickets. Metro and Foothill Transit offer discounts up to 50 percent on monthly passes for college students. Visit the Metro and Foothill Transit websites for information. Faculty and staff receive monthly bus and train subsidies to help reduce the cost of transit passes. The brochure also introduces our off-site parking lot, which provides a free shuttle to campus. The Loop Shuttle, which provides free transportation to location on campus, also helps reduce congestion and traffic on campus.
