Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Facilities Carts Powered by the Sun

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

In 2019, the roofs of eight electric golf carts in our facilities management vehicle fleet were retrofitted with 800-watt solar panels to allow for solar charging and to replace the need to plug them into an electrical outlet. This project, the first of its kind on campus, aims to reduce the number of campus vehicles and golf carts that rely on the electrical grid to recharge. The long term goal of this project is to reduce the overall carbon footprint of all campus vehicles.
