A brief description of the sustainability newsletter or social media platform:

The newsletter is distributed monthly via email to a distribution list of more than 2400 students, faculty, staff, and community partners. The purpose of the newsletter is to highlight sustainability achievements of Cal State University, Long Beach students, faculty, & staff and provide information about events, scholarships, internship opportunities, grants, training programs, workshops, and more.

CSULB Sustainability can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. We use these channels to highlight sustainability news, events, and opportunities both at CSULB and beyond.

A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:

All of our LEED-certified buildings have placards to signify their designation. Three LEED-certified buildings also have lucid dashboards that provide information about the sustainability features of the building as well as real-time information about building energy use. All of our campus zero-waste stations have comprehensive signage. Wayfinding signage in our largest surface parking lot is sustainability-themed with sections such as "Clean Energy", "Zero Waste", and "Local Food". Lastly, our solar-powered fleet golf carts display signage that reads "Powered by the Sun."

A brief description of other comprehensive sustainability outreach materials and publications not covered above:

The Office of Sustainability has developed various outreach materials to promote the campus zero-waste initiative "Waste Not." These include an informational video, a comprehensive website, signage, and a "how-to" brochure that each office occupant receives when they receive their deskside mini-landfill bin. Additionally, we collaborated with the Custodial Services staff to develop a business-card sized reminder notification that staff who clean offices overnight can leave on a workstation as a gentle and friendly reminder to employees in that space to properly dispose of their waste and recyclables and ensure the cleanliness of their unlined mini bins.
