A brief description of the diversity, equity, and/or inclusion recognition:
During Fall 2021, Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) earned the prestigious 2021 Seal of Excelencia, which is granted to a small group of colleges and universities committed to accelerating Latinx student success.
CSUF is one of only 10 institutions in the nation to receive the three-year certification this year from Excelencia in Education, the nation’s authority in efforts related to Latinx student success.
In 2021, CSUF was ranked first in California and third in the nation for awarding bachelor's degrees to underrepresented students in all disciplines, according to rankings in Diverse: Issues in Higher Education's Top 100 Degree Producers List.
The university ranks fourth in the nation for undergraduate degrees awarded to Hispanic students in all disciplines, and fourth in the nation for master’s degrees to underrepresented students in communication disorders sciences and services.
High graduation rates and strong social mobility, low-cost tuition, and low debt for students propelled Cal State Fullerton to its No. 5 ranking for the 2021 “Best Bang for the Buck” in the Western United States, according to Washington Monthly. CSUF’s ranking is up from No. 16 on the magazine’s 2020 list.
