A brief description of how the physical campus plan or amendment includes sustainability:
The campus Master Plan provides a physical framework of the University’s main campus to accommodate growth and change over the next ten to twenty years. The CSU mandates that all campuses have a master plan to guide growth and development. The CSU Board of Trustees reviews and approves campus master plans. Campus master plans may be amended as needed, with approval of the Board of Trustees. Several elements within the CSUF Master Plan address and fully incorporate social, economic, and environmental sustainability themes and issues. In particular, the Plan addresses land use efficiency, open space conservation, water conservation, parking/reduced transportation, affordability, and growth while meeting increased enrollment. In addition, the Plan specifically addresses reduced chemical fertilizers, pesticides & herbicides.
