Clean and renewable electricity
kWh | MMBtu | |
Imported electricity from certified/verified clean and renewable sources (i.e., bundled green power purchases) | 11,820,644.22 Kilowatt-hours | 40,332.04 MMBtu |
Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) | 1,183,200 Kilowatt-hours | 4,037.08 MMBtu |
A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:
The Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act (Senate Bill 350) established clean energy, clean air, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals for all CSUs. SB 350 increases California's renewable electricity procurement goal from 33 percent by 2020. The Chancellor's office CSU Power Content Procurement program is a certified/verified source of clean and renewable electricity that is in alignment with SB 350. It is procured via the Chancellor's office and Fresno State is a participant in the pooling program that uses its renewables.
A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:
All on-site renewable electricity data that Fresno State generates is captured from site meters throughout campus. Each meter is reported into the Energy Reporting Dashboard, Skyspark, and verified by manual readings. In addition, Fresno State installed a 1.2 MW solar system across 10 PV solar panel-topped canopies that cover more than 700 parking spaces (parking lot P2).
