A brief description of the student sustainability research program:
The Destination Decarbonization Challenge is an ongoing program at our institution, hosted by the Water, Energy, and Technology (WET) Center, designed to encourage undergraduate students to engage in interdisciplinary sustainability research. This case study competition provides a financial incentive to first, second, and third place winners (see below) who create the best plan to achieve carbon neutrality. The competition is open to groups of 2 to 4 students, which fosters collaboration and innovative research while providing students with an opportunity to solve local challenges and have a direct positive impact on their communities.
First place winners receive $6,000.
Second place winners receive $4,000.
Third place winners receive $2,500.
