Environmental Sciences prepares you for a career where you can explore, understand, and monitor the earth to protect it and the people who live on it. Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary approach to the natural sciences with an emphasis on biology, chemistry, and geology. This degree is designed for students interested in areas such as soils, pollution abatement, water resources, ecosystem protection, restoration, or management.

Urban and regional planners develop land use plans and programs that help create communities, accommodate population growth, and revitalize transportation infrastructure and public facilities in towns, cities, counties, and metropolitan areas, and also preserve natural resources, and as well address problems caused by pollution, and to use planning to reduce the impact of natural disasters.

The focus of the Outdoor Recreation and Natural Resource Management option is to provide students with an understanding and appreciation for outdoor recreation opportunities and the management of natural resources. Students are provided with practical and real-world skills and tools that enable them to develop into outdoor recreation professionals with knowledge and experience to successfully lead others and oversee the natural settings in which others recreate.

The City and Regional Planning Minor consists of 21 units of urban planning and geography courses as well as courses related to urban issues from other departments in the College of Social Science. The minor degree provides exposure to urban and regional issues in American cities and how urban and regional planning can help to address these problems.

This certificate is to train students to understand environmental issues and address environmental problems, with a body of knowledge that integrates physical environment and human societies. It will also prepare students to investigate, and address, environmental problems in a systematic manner, in conjunction with their particular field of study.

Water, Minor - This interdisciplinary minor gives students a comprehensive understanding of water, its uses and significance to human and environmental health, and applications to various fields like politics and law, communications, sociology, engineering, science, and business.
