The President's Commission on Human Relations and Equity supports acceptance and fairness at all levels of the University. Fresno State is an institution where exploring the diversity of thought and discouraging marginalization is valued as a means of enriching knowledge and critical-thinking. The Commission developed a comprehensive plan to make sure this commitment is understood across our campus.

A brief description of the institution’s cultural competence, anti-oppression, anti-racism, and/or social inclusion trainings and activities:
The President's Cultural Competency Certificate Program consists of: a) 3 required on-campus seminars, b) 2 on-campus elective seminars, c) 1 required PCHRE Forum for Inclusion, Respect and Equity event, and d) 2 on- or off-campus seminars preceded by a mandatory National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) Leading for Diversity and Inclusion workshop.

This program provides participants with a greater understanding of how we can and why we should work together to continue building a strong and inclusive Fresno State community. Certificates are awarded to those who complete all the required and elective seminars. Non-certificate seekers are welcome to attend all seminars.
