Jillian Buckholz, Director of Sustainability, served as Chair of the California State University Facilities Management Conference Awards committee for the sustainability category (2017/2018) and was a member of the committee the following year (2018/2019). In addition, Ms. Buckholz is a Steering Committee member of the California State University Sustainability Policy Update and leader of the associated working group for Education & Engagement.

The California State University (CSU) system Sustainability Officers (SO) hold monthly calls and the Chancellor's Office hosts a sustainability listserv, both aimed at sharing information and offering peer-to-peer support for SOs throughout the CSU.

Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, and Cal State San Marcos collaborated on a workshop on bridging issues of diversity and sustainability, which was presented at the 2018 NCORE Conference and 2018 AASHE Conference.
