On March 12, 2019, Cal State East Bay Academic Senate approved "18 - 19 FAC 10." This document outlines that work completed to achieve the campus' Institutional Learning Outcomes will be taken into consideration during Retention, Tenure, and Promotion (RTP) for faculty. Sustainability is one of the Cal State Institutional Learning outcomes: Graduates of CSUEB will be able to act responsibly and sustainably at local, national, and global levels.

A brief description of the institution’s library support for sustainability research, including any positive outcomes during the previous three years:
The Cal State East Bay library offers a "Topics in Literacy" course and the Spring 2019 topic will be sustainability. In addition, the library hosts a LibGuide focused on sustainability. There is also a Librarian Liaison for each campus department that supports research, including the Earth & Environmental Sciences Department and Environmental Studies Department.
