A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:

"Student assistants (“Sustainability Ambassadors”) will work within Academic Affairs specifically in the Office of Sustainability under the direct supervision of the Director of Sustainability. The Office of Sustainability hires up to 18 positions annually (dependent on funding). Each position, if hired, is expected to work 20 hours/week. Students that have been hired in this position previously and would like to return to the program must re-apply.

Sustainability Ambassadors are Cal State East Bay students who are committed to enhancing existing, or creating new, on-campus projects that contribute to the betterment of our campus environmentally, socially, and economically. These positions are expected to:

Participate in a beginning of the year full-day staff retreat
Participate in regular trainings and staff meetings
Participate in and staff events
Design a new, or enhance an existing, on-campus project or program
Create and present a formal proposal outlining project details
Implement the approved project with the support of the Director of Sustainability and other campus faculty/staff (as necessary)
Develop a work plan and track progress in a weekly report
Present final project at an end of the year symposium
Showcase project during campus events
Submit project as a session proposal to the This Way to Sustainability annual conference and the California Higher Sustainability Conference
Commit to one year with the program, and
Additional tasks as assigned"
