33.68

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
The Loker Student Union conducted a student survey from April-June 2018 that received responses from a representative sample of 574 participating students. The results of that survey are attached. Motorcycle and scooter uses is incorporated in the percentage of responses that did not identify with the provided options (survey does not have an option for motorcycles/scooters).

Part 2. Employee commute modal split

Has the institution gathered data about employee commuting behavior?:
Yes

Total percentage of employees that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
7.50

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
In the 2019-2020 academic year, the Parking Office tracked participation in their alternative transportation and rideshare programs and conducted an employee transportation survey. Currently 60 employees are registered for carpool/vanpool programs, 30 for the TAP Metro Discount program, and 20 participate in the zero emission vehicle permit program.

42 motorcycle permits were sold in the fall semester, but the permit does not distinguish between students and employees so this number was attributed to students only/not factored into this percentage.

Impacts due to COVID prevented the institution from releasing a more recent/accurate survey (more recent surveys overlap with data from when campus was fully virtual or hybrid), so older survey is referenced here.
