Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) | 988,963 Kilowatt-hours | 3,374.34 MMBtu |
A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:
Nearly 1MW of on-site rooftop solar (which CSUDH retains the REC rights for) was installed on five of CSUDH's campus buildings.
A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:
CSUDH also installed nearly 1MW of rooftop solar on its campus buildings which went online in summer of 2022. The total solar kWh generated for the calendar year from this installation was 988,963 kWh.
The Net Zero Innovation Center as well as the CSUDH Campus Urban Farm are both net zero energy sites, with all solar produced from rooftop panels which is stored on-site with local batteries and used to keep the structure off-grid.
