Over the last five years, Central Plant has piloted incorporating small scale solar in innovative ways to incorporate solar into everyday applications and remote sites.
This includes setting precedent for solarizing campus golf carts (of which there are now over a dozen) so they never need to be plugged in, adding solar and battery to the Net Zero Innovation Center structure so that it operates off-grid, and finally the CSUDH Campus Urban Farm which now operates off-grid as well with its own rooftop panels and battery storage.
