A series of cash and/or recognition awards are provided to recognize faculty that integrate textbook affordability and adoption of open access textbooks in their work is provided annually through the campus Affordable Learning Solutions unit:

OER Distinguished Faculty Author Award
To recognize faculty who have authored very low-cost or freely available textbooks for students to enhance student success. $500 Award.

COOL4ED and OER Faculty Award
To recognize faculty who adopted open textbooks (OER).

AB 798 Faculty Award
To recognize faculty who adopted OER or Library e-books that totally replaced or significantly reduced the cost of course textbooks.

Affordable Learning CSUDH Department Award
To recognize the department that has significantly worked on course redesign to enhance student success with affordability, including OER adoption, homework system contributions, textbook/workbook authorship, and outreach to high school seniors with OER.
