The Multicultural Center has several staff members and students coordinating activities under its umbrella. They also support faculty from Sociology, Chicanox studies, African American studies, Asian Pacific Islander studies, etc. pursuing their independent event and engagement efforts.

At the Center, Lisa Sueki is the Assistant Dean of the Multicultural Affairs, and there are dedicated staff coordinators running the Toro Dreamers Success Center (for students who are covered by the DREAM Act and DACA), the Rose Black Resource Center (for African American students, faculty, and staff), and the Pride Center (for the LGBTQIA2+ campus community).

The campus is currently recruiting for a Chief Diversity, Equity,
and Inclusion Officer though the position is currently vacant.

The Multicultural Center offers the following programs:

Cup of Culture
A weekly series that promotes explores and celebrates culture. The MCA offers cultural programs that include live performances, workshops and presentations.

The Cross Cultural Retreat (CCR)
The CCR is a weekend, residential program that provides students, faculty and staff interactive activities and thought-provoking discussions about cross cultural issues. The CCR was developed to build a more understanding and open community. The CCR provides an opportunity for honest dialogue about issues related to diversity and how to build effective multicultural alliances. Students who participate in the retreat can earn 1 unit of academic credit.

Diversity Chats
MCA's Diversity Chats are an on-going series of discussions exploring issues of diversity and multiculturalism. In a comfortable and safe setting, a facilitator leads an interactive dialogue that strives for awareness and understanding about relevant, social issues for our students. Diversity Chat topics include but are not limited to:

Cultural Identity
Social Oppression
Ally Building
Cross Cultural Communication

Diversity In Action (DIA)
DIA is a 9-month student internship program (September-May) designed to provide students with knowledge, skills training and hands-on experience in exploring issues of diversity, human relations awareness and cross cultural communication. Interns who successfully complete the program receive a certificate of completion and 6 units of academic credit (3 per semester). Through DIA, students will:

Increase self-awareness and cross-cultural understanding
Learn to co-facilitate human relations discussions and activities
Develop program planning skills
Make a difference in your school and community about issues that are important to you
Work with your peers at CSU Dominguez Hills and youTHink students, who attend LA-area middle and high schools.

Unity Fest
Unity Fest is a day long multicultural celebration held each Spring. The festival features live cultural performances, cultural vendors, community organizations, an array of international food, as well as a children's arts and crafts village.

The Multicultural Affairs Programming Board (MAPB)
MAPB is a leadership opportunity for students to assist with the planning and implementation of MCA events and programs. In addition, the Programming Board is responsible for the review and approval of all co-sponsorship funding request. The board is advised and supervised by the Multicultural Affairs Assistant Dean.

Student Leadership Opportunities
The Multicultural Affairs offers numerous opportunities for student leadership and volunteerism. Volunteer positions are available to assist with publicity/marketing, subcommittees for special events, and the planning and coordination of our weekly Cup of Culture programs.
