A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
The campus has an MS4 permit/stormwater program that monitors and attempts to mitigate stormwater contamination. Per the Sustainable Landscape Plan, the campus also supports green infrastructure, with at least two native gardens specifically designed to function as bioswales (Heritage Creek and the Ocean-Friendly Garden). There are also rain barrels at the Campus Farm, Net Zero Innovation Center, and CDC/ITC garden.

A brief description of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines that supports the responses above:
The MS4 program includes storm drain cleaning, inspections, education and training, assessments of potential impact to surface waters, stormwater pollution prevention plans. It also implements LID runoff standards to reduce runoff from projects that create and/or replace 5000 square feet or more of impervious surface (standardized with system-wide Chancellor's Office guidance).
